We are excited to set forth Pingree School’s highest funding priorities within the Power of Possibility Campaign

Guided by our mission and the enduring pillars of a Pingree education, this campaign — and the strategic framework that informs it — will unify Pingree’s unique campus and meet urgent academic and program needs.

Dear Members of the Pingree Community,

Every great school is built on a promise.

At Pingree, that promise has never been confined to the four walls of a classroom. It lives in the question a student is brave enough to ask, the teacher who sees a spark before it becomes a flame, the teammate who lifts another after a hard loss, the artist who discovers a new voice, and the graduate who carries Pingree’s sense of purpose into the wider world.

For more than six decades, Pingree has been shaped by people who believed in possibility before it was fully visible. They built a school rooted in courage, imagination, joy, challenge, and belonging. Now it is our turn to carry that work forward.

We are excited to share the vision and priorities for The Power of Possibility Campaign, an effort designed to strengthen the Pingree experience for today’s students while preparing our school for generations to come. Guided by our strategic plan, The Framework for the Future, this campaign focuses on four essential commitments:

People. Pingree’s greatest strength has always been its people. We will invest in the students, faculty, and staff who bring our mission to life each day, with critical endowment support for financial assistance and faculty excellence.

Place. Learning is shaped by environment. We will create flexible, inspiring, and mission-aligned spaces that support classrooms, the Educational Resource Center, study areas, collaboration, creativity, and community.

Pace. In a world moving faster than ever, Pingree must remain a place for depth, reflection, and growth. We will protect the time and space students and teachers need to think deeply, adapt thoughtfully, and lead with purpose.

Program. True rigor is not simply doing more. It is doing meaningful work that stretches students toward their full potential. As an independent school, Pingree has both the opportunity and the responsibility to innovate boldly in service of our students and our mission.

Much has already been accomplished. Even more is possible. With the support of our extended community, we can create the conditions for students and teachers to flourish: intellectually, personally, creatively, and ethically.

We can honor the Pingree we have inherited while building the Pingree our future demands.

This campaign is an invitation to all who believe in the life-changing power of education: graduates, parents, grandparents, trustees, friends, and champions of this school. Together, we can look ahead with gratitude for what has been built and excitement for what is still becoming.

With deep appreciation and great optimism,

Dr. Timothy M. Johnson | Head of School | P'26, P'27, P'27, P'28

“Philanthropy is the quiet engine behind Pingree’s future—fueling our people, strengthening our community, and ensuring we thrive for generations to come.”
